Ladies and Gentlemen, mark your calendars! After the best event in the short history of The Lone Star Summer Shootout, The 5th Annual Lone Star Summer Shootout will return to the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, June 22-24, 2018. With over 200 racers in 2017, the largest event to date, The Lone Star Summer Shootout continues to grow.
Since 2014, racers have been raking in big prize money at The Lone Star Summer Shootout. The 3 day event is a one-of-a-kind bracket race hosted by sportsman racer, Tommy Phillips, and his Philco Race Services team. The Lone Star Summer Shootout (LSSS) has quickly gained a reputation for investing in its racers as well as creating a great value for sponsors through an innovative “paid on site” contingency program. The program pays bonus cash on the spot to winner, runner up, and semi final finishers throughout the weekend. This idea was taken from the NHRA sportsman racing program yet made more convenient and attractive to the big money bracket racer because of its simplicity. LSSS participants do not have to file contingency forms, nor do they wait for their checks to come by mail. The dedicated Lone Star Summer Shootout staff spends all year working out the contingency payout and details so participants can collect their winnings right in the winner circle! With more than 30 sponsors dedicated to the contingency program in 2017, the event continues to provide a successful payout for the racers.
The contingency program, as well as the add on bonus opportunities at the event such as Free Race Friday, The No Entry Fee Last Chance Race on Saturday, Buy Back/Give Back rebates, Double Up Bonuses, Performance Awards, etc., demonstrate the “invest in our racers first” philosophy that has brought so much success to this event. Tommy and his crew believe in giving back to the racing community and continue to find new ways each year to inject prize money and product winnings into the race.
